PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT. PRESERVE PERFORMANCE.

PSI is your Long Term facility partner.

An operable partition system is one of the hardest working assets within your facility. Whether manually operated or fully electric, these sophisticated wall systems are engineered to provide years of dependable service while maximizing the flexibility of your meeting spaces, classrooms, gymnasiums, and event venue. Like any precision mechanical system, however, they require routine inspection, adjustment, and maintenance to continue operating safely, efficiently, and as originally designed.

Daily use, frequent room conversions, heavy event schedules, and improper operation naturally contribute to wear on tracks, roller assemblies, acoustic seals, hardware, and operating mechanisms. Without regular preventive maintenance, minor issues can quickly develop into costly repairs, unexpected downtime, or premature system replacement. Precision Service & Installation’s Preventive Maintenance Program is designed to identify and correct these issues before they become operational problems, helping facility owners extend equipment life, maintain manufacturer performance standards, protect the appearance of their investment, and ensure dependable operation for years to come.

At PSI, we don’t simply service operable walls—we help our clients protect one of their facility’s most valuable building assets. Our experienced technicians work as an extension of your facility team, providing thorough inspections, preventative adjustments, detailed reporting, and professional recommendations that maximize system reliability while minimizing unexpected repairs and operational disruptions.

Scheduling: A Shared Commitment to Reliability

Our Goals Are The Same.

One of the greatest challenges to a successful Preventive Maintenance program isn’t the maintenance itself it’s finding the time to perform it. We understand that hotels, convention centers, schools, recreation facilities, and event venues operate on demanding schedules. Sales and Catering teams work hard to maximize bookings, Recreation Departments coordinate daily activities, and Operations strives to keep every space available for guests and users. Closing a room or taking a system out of service, even briefly, can seem difficult.

However, postponing scheduled maintenance often creates a far greater disruption. Small adjustments and routine inspections that require only a short service window can prevent unexpected equipment failures that may place meeting rooms, gymnasiums, or event spaces completely out of service for days while emergency repairs and replacement parts are arranged. A few hours of planned maintenance today can prevent significant downtime tomorrow.

The most successful facilities recognize that Preventive Maintenance is a shared responsibility. By working together to reserve service dates in advance, every department contributes to protecting the facility’s investment, preserving the guest experience, and ensuring operable walls and specialty equipment remain safe, reliable, and available when they are needed most. At PSI, we partner with your entire team to schedule maintenance with minimal operational impact while helping you avoid the costly interruptions that unplanned failures can create.

What you can expect:

  • Maintenance schedules built around your facility
  • Annual or semi-annual in-depth inspections
  • Clear, detailed condition reports with expert insight
  • Priority response if service is ever needed
  • Extended system life and reliable day-to-day performance

YOUR SCHEDULING EXPERT

Alina Allen, PSI Scheduling Coordinator

Our Scheduling Process:

Planning Preventive Maintenance shouldn’t be another task added to your workload. That’s why PSI has a dedicated Scheduling Coordinator to help make the process simple, organized, and convenient for your facility.

Alina Allen, Scheduling Coordinator, serves as your primary scheduling contact and works directly with your team to identify the most appropriate service windows based on your operational calendar, seasonal demands, and facility needs. Whether you’re scheduling annual, semi-annual, or quarterly maintenance, Alina will coordinate every step of the process, communicate with your designated contacts, and help ensure your service is completed with minimal interruption to daily operations.

Because many hotels, convention centers, schools, and recreational facilities prefer maintenance during slower seasons or between major events, these preferred service dates are often reserved months in advance. We encourage clients to schedule early to secure their ideal maintenance window and avoid unnecessary delays.

Our goal is to make scheduling as effortless as possible.

  • Step 1: Contact Alina to discuss your facility, preferred service timeframe, and operational schedule.
  • Step 2: Together, we’ll identify the best maintenance window that minimizes disruption while protecting your equipment.
  • Step 3: Your service date is reserved, confirmed, and entered into our scheduling system. Prior to your appointment, our team will communicate with your designated facility contact to confirm access, review logistics, and ensure everything is prepared for a smooth, efficient service visit.

At Precision Service & Installation, scheduling is more than simply selecting a date—it’s the beginning of a long-term partnership focused on protecting your investment, maximizing equipment reliability, and keeping your facility operating at its very best.

DUSTING, DAMPENING & DRYING

Step 1: Preserve The Panel Finish

Regular cleaning helps maintain the professional appearance of your operable wall system while preventing dirt and debris from damaging the surface. Dust or vacuum panels frequently using a soft microfiber cloth or upholstery attachment. Clean surfaces with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive soap, using a damp “not saturated” cloth to avoid excessive moisture.

Because operable walls are manufactured with a variety of finishes, cleaning methods should always match the panel material:

What makes the difference:

  • Vinyl & Laminate: Wipe with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, solvents, or ammonia-based products.
  • Fabric & Carpet: Vacuum regularly using an upholstery attachment. For stains, gently blot using a manufacturer-approved fabric cleaner “never scrub the material”.
  • Wood Veneers: Periodically apply a manufacturer-approved wood cleaner or conditioner and polish with a soft cloth.
  • Ink or Pencil Marks: Small marks may be removed with rubbing alcohol after first testing an inconspicuous area.

PSI's Three-Step System Preservation Guide

Step 2: Operate Your System Correctly

Proper operation is one of the most important factors in extending the life of an operable partition. Panels should always move smoothly through the track system without excessive force. If resistance is encountered, stop operation and identify the cause rather than forcing the panel into position.

Before moving any panel, confirm that all mechanical seals are fully retracted and door latches are properly disengaged. When storing panels, stack them neatly within the storage pocket to prevent unnecessary contact, surface damage, or misalignment. Taking a few extra moments during setup and storage can significantly reduce long-term wear on the system.

PROTECTING YOUR WALLS DURING EVENT SETUPS

One of the most common sources of damage to operable partition walls occurs during event setup and breakdown, not from normal operation, but from vendors and service providers. Production companies frequently stack road cases, audio/visual equipment, staging, and freight directly against partition panels, while catering teams often position buffet lines, coffee stations, beverage tables, and service carts against finished wall surfaces. These practices can result in scratches, gouges, torn wallcoverings, impact damage, moisture stains, and permanent discoloration that are often expensive to repair.

Event Managers, Facility Directors, and Operations Teams play a critical role in protecting these valuable assets. Establishing designated equipment staging areas, requiring vendors to maintain adequate clearance from operable walls, and routinely monitoring room setups can dramatically reduce unnecessary damage. A few simple preventative measures during every event help preserve the appearance of your meeting spaces, protect your investment, and ensure your facility continues to present the professional image your guests expect.

Step 3: Know When To Call PSI

(800) 330-1200

Small issues rarely remain small. Difficulty moving panels, damaged seals, unusual noises, loose hardware, misaligned panels, or visible wear are often early warning signs that should be addressed before they become costly repairs. Prompt attention not only protects your investment but also helps maintain safety, acoustical performance, and reliable operation.

WE UNDERSTAND!

Because We've Been In Your Role

  • We understand that an air wall isn’t just an air wall, it’s a ballroom that has to convert in 30 minutes before a 2,000-person luncheon.
  • We know that a scratched partition isn’t simply cosmetic, it reflects on a luxury hotel’s brand standards.
  • We understand why preventive maintenance matters because we’ve been the person receiving the midnight call when a divider wouldn’t move before an event.
  • We recognize that downtime affects revenue, guest satisfaction, labor costs, and a facility’s reputation, not just repair costs.
